Windows XP SP3

SP3は単なるパッチの集合という性格が強いので、必然性に欠けていたのでアップデートせずに放っておいたのですが、夏休み暇なのでアップデートしてみました。

何度か「更新がキャンセルされました」とエラー発生して、勝手にアップデート処理が停止。

C:\Windows\svcpack.log
に以下のような行がある。

168.781: Failed To Move File C:\WINDOWS\system32\spupdsvc.exe error = 0x11
168.781: Failed to copy spupdsvc.exe to system32
169.140: UnRegisterSpuninstForRecovery, failed to delete SpRecoverCmdLine value, error 0x2
169.140: DoInstallation: Failed to unregistering spuninst.exe for recovery.
172.656: DeRegistering the Uninstall Program -> Windows XP Service Pack, 0
172.656: Service Pack 3 セットアップが取り消されました。
176.453: Message displayed to the user: Service Pack 3 セットアップが取り消されました。
176.453: User Input: OK
176.453: Update.exe extended error code = 0xf00d

セーフモードでC:\Windows\System32\Spupdsvc.exeをリネームして再起動。

その後はSP3へのアップデートに成功。
